Nepal – Prayers to Action

The Federation of Indian Multi-Faith Organisation recently held an event called ‘Nepal – Prayers to Action’ to raise funds for food projects for the victims of the April 25^th Nepal Earthquake.

The event comprised prayers and spiritual ceremonies for the victims of the Earthquake from the Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Bahai and Sikh faiths. On behalf of Islam and Sufism, Shaykh Zainuddin led those attending in Sufi Chanting and Prayer. A traditional reed flute was played between these ceremonies, providing further opportunity for contemplation and prayer.

The function was concluded with a meal and an opportunity for the people of different backgrounds to mix and share something of their spiritual backgrounds. Funds were raised at the event to assist the victims of the Nepal Earthquake.
